Siargao readies for the 14th Siargao National Surfing Cup




General Luna, Siargao Island -  The Philippine Surfing Federation and the Municipality of General Luna in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte and the House of Representatives for the first district of Surigao del Norte are inviting all Filipino surfers to join this year's 14th Siargao International Surfing Cup   from May 5 to 9 at the world-renowned surf break, Cloud 9.  


This five-day event, which will be held just right after the  Roxy Siargao International Surfing Cup, is a pre-qualifying   rounds for all-Filipino surfers who will be chosen to  officially represent the Philippines for the 18th Siargao International Surfing Cup in September.   Philippines’ top 12 surfers will be chosen from among the surfers of Baler, Aurora, Camarines, Samar, La Union, General Luna, Lanuza and other parts of the country to compete for the forthcoming all-men surfing event at Cloud 9 from September 21 to 28, 2012.  A total of two hundred thousand pesos (Php200,000) is up for grabs by the Filipino surfers for both open and junior (ages 20 and below) divisions with an entry fee of Php200 per participant.

This event is brought to you by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), San Miguel Corporation, Nature Spring and Rockstar Energy drink.

The awarding ceremony will be highlighted by a bikini open in General Luna and a celebrity basketball exhibition in Dapa on the 9th of May.
