SIARGAO ISLAND FIRST EVER MUPH CANDIDATE | Michelle Angela Navarro Okol, with roots from Dapa town, is the official candidate of Siargao Islands in this year’s Miss Universe Philippines pageant. She’s a granddaughter of the late Representative Constantino “Baby” Navarro, the 20-year-old Angela not just exudes with beauty and charm but a consistent first honor and dean's lister taking up political science in one of Manila's top universities.

Being Siargao's first-ever representative to the Miss Universe Philippines.

How to vote?

Mechanics:

- Each MUPH App user can cast ONE vote per day for any delegate during the voting period.

- Voting for the Runway Challenge will start on August 9 and will officially close on August 14, 11:59 PM.

- Only the votes from the MUPH App will be counted. Social media likes, reactions, shares, views will have no bearing in the selection of the Top 50.

Mamalihog kami na an tanan scheduled for 2nd dose mukanhi sa RHU-GL kay tungod an Astrazeneca na vaccine MULTIDOSE ini (1 vial good for 10-12 individuals) amo kinahanglan mubatok gajud pagpabakuna sugod August 11, 2021(Wednesday) hantod August 12, 2021(Thursday) na schedule.

I am very proud as a Siargaonon that the Municipality of Del Carmen, Siargao, will receive the COMMEMORATIVE STAMP from the office of our Postmaster General of the Philippines for their 100th anniversary celebration of their municipality. I am overjoyed to have a post office stamp from our Island of Siargao that will be used for mail stamp in various places around the world.

125th Malasakit Center, Launched At Siargao District Hospital

On Saturday, July 3, 2021, the 125th Malasakit Center at Siargao District Hospital in Surigao del Norte was opened to the public under the leadership of Sen. Bong Go. The new name of the hospital, Siargao Island Medical Center, was also launched on the same occasion, which was sponsored by the Senator last year.

In addition, Kuya Bong Go and his office also provided assistance to 115 medical health workers, including rank and file employees, as well as 25 hospital patients.

Apart from making the process of asking for help with their hospitalization easier, our compatriots living on the island will no longer have to spend and leave to get medical assistance from the government.

The Malasakit Center is sure to bring great help and comfort to our compatriots on the beautiful island of Siargao, Surigao del Norte, Philippines!

Amazing Race Siargao Successful Event

Five teams of socially savvy, fearless warriors from all over Siargao Islands embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime experience, traversing tourist spots and proving their mettle on a quest to be crowned the all-out champion.

21 youth participants took part in the first-ever Amazing Race for the Oceans in Siargao Island last Sunday, June 27, 2021. The participating teams were composed of students from the Agri-Fishery Department of Surigao State College of Technology -  Del Carmen Campus; and hailing from the 9 municipalities in the island of Siargao.

Traveling to multiple stations in the shortest amount of time, each team arrived at a new destination where they must compete in a series of physical, mental - and often emotional - challenges. Each station comes with a challenge that is relevant to themes such as Mangrove Management, Sustainable Tourism, Marine Protected Areas Management, Deep-Sea Mining, Ocean Conservation and Environmental Protection.

Attended the necrological service for the late SFO3 Manuel Sumando

BFP Caraga Regional Director SSUPT FRED LINAZAN TRAJERAS JR, together with Assistant Regional Director SUPT MICHAEL MELCHOR SOLER PONFERRADA and Assistant Regional Director for Operations and Provincial Fire Marshal of Surigao del Norte SUPT REY GONZALES BAUTISTA, attended the necrological service for the late SFO3 Manuel Sumando - former Fire Marshal of Dapa Fire Station. 

During a brief program, SSUPT TRAJERAS presented the Scroll of Commemoration to the wife of the deceased symbolizing the acknowlegement of his years in public service, as well as the turn over of Financial Assistance raised by all personnel of BFP Caraga.
